Face

We offer a range of face cosmetic surgery including: facelift, browlift, eyelid lift (blepharoplasty), nose surgery (rhinoplasty), prominent ears (otoplasty), and treatment for wrinkles.

Facelift

As you age changes can occur in the upper, mid, and lower portions of the face. These changes are due to a combination of stretching of the supporting ligaments, loss of skin elasticity and loss of tissue volume. As such there are variety of procedures that can be used to target each of these areas. The mid face-lift specifically corrects the aging changes of the lower eyelids, cheeks and nasolabial regions. The lower face/neck lift corrects these areas too but has a stronger emphasis on the jowls and neck regions.

It is often appropriate for individuals who have not yet experienced sagging in the lower face to perform a mid face-lift is to rejuvenate the middle portion of the face i.e. the lower eyelid, cheek and nasolabial regions. It can be performed in conjunction with other types of facelift or other facial rejuvenation surgery. A lower face/neck lift focuses its attention on reducing the appearance of deep facial wrinkles, sagging jowls, as well as sagging and banding in the neck.

Forehead lift / Brow lift

A forehead lift, also known as a brow lift, is a cosmetic surgery procedure used to elevate a drooping eyebrow that may obstruct vision and/or to remove the deep “worry” lines that run across the forehead and may make you appear angry, stern or fatigued

A forehead lift is often used in combination with eyelid surgery to reduce sagging skin found on the upper eyelids.

The forehead can be elevated via an open or endoscopic “key hole” technique.

Eyelid Lift

Over time, the eyes undergo changes that often make people feel as if they appear sad or tired. The aging process can cause the eyelids to sag and droop, which in combination with bags and puffiness can make you look tired and older than you really are. Both Upper & Lower Eyelid Surgery can make a dramatic change to the way you feel and look.

Upper eyelid surgery, or upper blepharoplasty, can help freshen and revitalise your face by reducing the appearance of heavy, sagging upper eyelids and associated puffiness. In some individuals, the upper eyelid skin becomes so baggy and excessive, that vision itself starts to be impaired. These people benefit functionally, as well as cosmetically, from upper eyelid rejuvenation.

Lower eyelid surgery, or lower blepharoplasty, can help freshen and revitalise your face by reducing the appearance of heavy and sagging eyelids, wrinkles, puffiness, bags and hollowness under the eyes.

There are several options for lower eyelid surgery. The ‘Inside’ approach involves no external scars and is useful for removing excess fat from the lower eyelid. Alternatively, the ‘Outside’ approach involves a well-hidden incision just below the eyelash margin and is useful when there is also excess skin involved.

Sometimes, a mid-face lift is also an alternative for those who want to rejuvenate the appearance of the lower eyelid and cheek area.

Nose Surgery

Surgery to reshape the nose is called rhinoplasty. The aim of treatment is to end up with a nose that looks natural and achieves a harmonious balance with your other facial feature. Because the nose is positioned in the centre of the face abnormalities tend to be more obvious.

Reason to have nose surgery may include: having an excessively large nose, an excessively wide nose, a large hump on the top of the nose, a crooked nose, a droopy nose tip, an enlarged nose tip or nasal obstruction from a deviated nasal septum. It is important that you have a clear idea of how you would like your nose to look and, at the same time, realise that there are limitations to the procedure.

The procedure is performed under a general anaesthetic and may require a combination of cartilage, bone and soft tissue remodelling.

Prominent Ears

Ear surgery, also referred to as otoplasty, aims to correct prominent ears. This procedure is common in children as prominent ears can be very embarrassing and often causes them a great deal of distress. This surgery can be performed at a young age, however, it is not uncommon for teenagers and adults to have this surgery later in life.

This procedure is performed as a day case under a general anaesthetic and scars are hidden behind the ear. Surgery involves reshaping and then resetting the ear cartilage closer to the side of the head. A head bandage is worn for a week.

Wrinkles

A wrinkle is a fold, ridge or crease in the skin. Skin wrinkles typically appear as a result of the aging processes, facial muscle overactivity, sun damage, smoking, and various other factors. There are a wide variety of treatment options depending on the cause, location and severity of the wrinkles.

Excessive frowning wrinkles and crow’s feet around the eyes can be helped with injectable muscle relaxants. Deeper wrinkles that develop in the forehead, between the eyes, beside the nose, or around the mouth can be improved by injecting these creases with a substance that will fill them out and raise them so that they are more level with the adjacent skin.
